Dr Amir Qureshi

Dr. Amir Qureshi serves as the Aurora’s primary historian and archaeologist, selected for his ability to chronicle not just the technical evolution of human civilization, but the cultural soul of humanity as it steps beyond Sol. Where engineers and scientists advance the mission physically, Amir advances it existentially—asking not just how they survive, but what legacy they bring.
He was chosen for this interstellar voyage to document the founding of a new civilization, ensuring humanity never forgets where it came from. Amir sees Aurion (Kepler-452b) not just as a destination, but as a blank page for cultural rebirth.

Book 1: Launch Point

Amir is a deeply educated academic with a passion for cultural anthropology and xenoarchaeology. He spent years on Earth and in Mars research outposts cataloging lost cities and ancient transitions before being chosen for the Aurora mission. His job is to help the colony understand its own identity in relation to the long arc of human history.
Though not a combatant or engineer, he often finds himself on planetary surfaces, filming ruins and making quiet notations. His field journals—both audio and visual—are part of a long-term archive for future generations.
In one such moment on Aurion, he stood recording a panoramic scan of the ancient colony ruins while softly narrating into his mic. His words—"We do this for them. I just hope they aren't all that's left"—revealed both his sense of duty and his lingering fear of failure.
